Potty Training

This is what we have been doing for the last 2 weeks. Let me give you a little background. About 3 weeks ago Carson was scared of the potty. If you made him sit on it he would scream and cry and refuse and tell you he loved his diaper. My mother and I started googling "afraid of the potty" and found a ton of cases where this fear of the potty followed kids into grade school and teenager years. At this point I said we are getting him on the potty no matter what next week and it happened.

First we moved the potty to a central part of the house and let Carson go without a diaper. Yes there were a few wet accidents, but nothing major.

That is Carson playing with his game waiting to tell mommy "it's coming!"

After he started getting good and letting us know he was ready to go potty and running to it we got to go pick out some undies!! He choose a mixture of Diego, spongebob, and wonder pets. Dad was very happy to get out of the naked stage because Carson still liked to jump on Dad and he found it a little awkward :)

This picture just makes me think typical male!

Sitting on his mini John.

And lastly the sweet sweet rewards of finally telling mommy he needs to go potty and actually doing it in a public restroom!

Seriously people, I thought this day might never come! Are we completely potty trained?? Heck no! But he will be by age 3 and that makes this mommy super excited :)

Flu Season

When I thought the sickness was over ...BAM the flu has hit our house! Even with preventative flu mist. Well this momma had her flu shot and the doctors put Caleb on a preventative prescription. Good luck Daddy!

Good thing he is tough boy. He will bounce back quick and we will be on house arrest for a few days.

Bringing home the Bacon

You heard it. This momma is going back to work...kinda. Wylie ISD has hired me to substitute teach and I have already subbed 2 days and want to quit! Jk :)

Elementary Art and Junior High Choir. I enjoyed both days and once I got myself settled I felt at home with the little buggers. I didn't feel extremely comfortable with the subjects but I managed.

What am I doing with the boys? Well that's the hard part. The pay is not good enough to put them both in daycare and the jobs aren't consistent enough. If they could guarantee me a job every day then daycare might me an option as well but they can't. So for now the boys are being juggled between Lindsay my mother and Carson's mothers day out program that he goes to twice a week. And let me mention that when my dear friend Lindsay offers to keep them she is juggles 4 kids at one time. 2 (terrible) jk :) 2's and 2 infants. If she has twins next go around it will be a piece of cake for her!

The plan is maybe look into finding an in-home place that I can take Caleb a few days or a day care that takes drop-ins for last minute jobs I can get and continue to dump Carson with people. Because as Garet puts it "I have to make that paper!" Then come this spring I will start applying for jobs for next school year and hopefully snag one.

Mrs. Black is back in action!
