Cousins
We have babies running out of our ears! On Garet's families' side Carson is one of four cousins and the new baby will make 5. Now most people would say that's not that many...by the time the next one is born they will all be under the age of 3! I'm really contemplating whether or not we should video the up-coming holiday events because at the time we will probably be very frustrated, but a few years down the road we will think they are hilarious.
Here is a picture of the four Black family babies. Blake is the oldest born in January of 09, next is Carson July of 09' then the twinkies Ethan and Elynn born in April of 2010. I'm sure we will take another group picture with new baby included over Christmas time.
Then on my side of the family we have, or are going to have 2 boys and my sister has 2 girls. Oldest is Avery who I can't beleive is 6 and a half, going into the 1st grade, and drop dead gourgous. When I say we are going to have to beat guys off with a stick I'm not joking...her daddy, step daddy, and uncles will all own suitable sticks to keep the boys away. My sister's other daughter is sweet Dakota who just turned 1 in July and she is the energy of the group. She will have no problem keeping up with the boys because she is already riding four wheelers and climbing all over things.
This picture of the girls is on the lake! We love boating with both sides of the family and we are starting the kids early.
The reason why I decided to blog about all of Carson's cousins was because he adores all of them. Avery might be his first girl crush. He follows her everywhere and almost cops a feel on her hiney when giving good bye hugs. Blake and Carson are the closet in age and they are defiantly best buddies. They ask for each other all the time and their little faces light up when they see each other. Carson hasn't gotten too many chances to play with the twins but recently at the lake he loved that they were both moving more and defiantly rocked out to some Mickey mouse with them. The twins are two names that are always mentioned during prayer time too! Then Dakota is his littlest cousin friend but most active. Dakota and Carson find any trouble they can manage. They love climbing on toys, couches, anything they can get their legs on and they are four wheeling cruising buddies.
It will be interesting to add another cousin into the mix and have that baby establish a special bond with each and every cousin like Carson has.

We can officially say we are Home!
Our beautiful house that we love so much. We better love it because we are never leaving. Our children will grow up here and their children will visit us here and Garet and I will die here just like the old couple in the Notebook. Ok, I'm exaggerating just a bit but this is defiantly a 10 year at least house and we love it. We have 4 bedrooms - 5 if you count the playroom, 3 and 1/2 bathrooms, game room (Garet's playroom), and a large backyard with room for a pool someday.
Hopefully I can put up some pictures of the inside soon. Right now this place is a wreck. There is stuff everywhere and Carson is getting into EVERYTHING! The ultimate goal will be to have everything hung and put away before baby#2 gets here.
Speaking of baby#2...I had my first appointment with my new doctor here and everything looked good. Garet and I are very close on deciding a name and our original idea to keep it a secret will probably go out the window. We will see...another blog for another day.

The nightmare of selling our house
People always say that when you are trying to sell a house nothing goes right. Most of those people are exaggerating, but in our case that couldn't have been a more appropriate statement. Yes, we are very lucky that we sold our house in an economy like this and yes, it is finally finished and we are no longer home owners in Tomball, Texas. Here is just what happened within 24 hours of signing papers to close on the house....
While driving to Houston on Thursday afternoon we receive a call from our realtor that the family buying our house went for their final walk-through in the house and were very upset with the dust on the cabinets, ceiling fans, and window seals along with the carpet not being shampooed. We all commented well that's what happens when you aren't buying a brand new house and they are going to have to deal with it. Of course there is going to be some dust in places...we haven't lived in the house in 2 weeks and kept the AC running at 80 so the new people wouldn't suffocate when they were moving in. A few minutes later Garet received an e-mail from the buyers realtor stating that per contract the house needed to be professionally cleaned and the carpets professionally cleaned. Our next thought was No Way! We signed those contacts weeks ago and would have seen that or at least our realtor would have caught it. We try to get a hold of our realtor - phone is off. We arrive in Houston, get Carson to bed at Garet's parents and receive another e-mail. This one is a copy of the contract that states all of the professional cleaning mess and our signatures are on the bottom of the page. Well crap! It is now 10:30 at night and Garet and his mom decide to go and deep clean everything that night while I stay back with carson then figure out the carpet situation in the morning. 30 minutes after they had left I am getting ready to get in bed and call Garet to see how things are going. His first words into the phone were not hello it was "we don't have a house key, the door inside the garage was locked." He assumed he could enter the house with the garage door opener like he has everyday for the last 3 years. I crawl out of bed, and we decide to meet halfway to pass off house keys. At about 2:30 in the morning Garet crawls back in to bed and said that the house was dustless.
Next morning we have to wake up at 6:30 to get ready and drive all the way to the other side of Houston during rush-hour traffic to make a 8:30 closing time with the title company. The deal was we had to get the funds pushed through by 3:00 that afternoon or we would loose $750 in escro taxes for the next month. Hence the first possible closing time of the day. We had also decided that we were going to give the buyers $200 to get the carpet cleaned by a person their realtor knew and that was the quote given to us. We arrive early and start signing papers to sale the house. As we are signing Garet and I realize that it's now a bit past 8:30 and the buyers have yet to show up. Our realtor gets on his phone to check to see if they were caught in traffic, running late, any typical excuse. No answer. A few minutes later they call back....they weren't informed that closing was at 8:30 - they thought it was at 10:00! Holy cow what else could go wrong! We could both see our time ticking away and that $750 going down the drain. The lady in charge of our closing also made the comment that she had 9 closings that day and wasn't sure where she was going to fit them in. When she saw that I was on the verge of busting into tears she quickly told us not to worry and they would fit them in and get it done ASAP. At that point we were finished and both Garet and I were ready to bolt and not cater to these people anymore. During all the drama Garet's mother had gotten a hold of her carpet guy and he could clean the carpets for $50 cheaper and be at the house immediately. Finally some good news let's do it!
Like I said earlier yes, the buyers FINALLY showed up finished signing papers and the bank even pushed all of the funds by 3:00 pm so we did not loose the money. Too much drama for this Momma, not to mention we are not closing on the house in Murphy today, or tomorrow. Probably Wednesday or Thursday....that's another blog for another day. I think this baby is going to come out with a stress ulcer from all of the things Garet and I have had to deal with in the last month.
I can't wait to blog about our new house and my new nursery! It will be soon I have faith and I know I have said this a lot but....WE ARE NEVER MOVING AGAIN!
